Okay using Inkscape I applied the Silk Carpet #filter over the three colors shown on the right
I would suggest adding some kind of ripple or blur effect filter for an final edit to this if you use for an illo of water?
Possibly add some highlights ?

Finally an apology I am still justifying to the Blogger "upgrade" that moved the location of various things.
My layouts are ... ech functional but not ...beautiful ... anyway i hope the demo gives you ideas ?
