I do enjoy experimenting with metallic effects but I wish I could get a Silver  that works!

Adding Molten Metal over a plain color ... well its just another BEVEL 

but if you add Silk Carpet first and then Add Molten Metal its far more interesting?

For this one I made circles used the Node and Path to alter their shapes then I added Silk Carpet and three different filters over that. One shape has no extra filter over the Silk Carpet. It looks like Silk Carpet with a Gradient filter works best? 

I think looking at this in Blogger changing the Stroke to Gradient too would work better 

or removing the Stroke completely  plus adding some blue Drop Shadow?

Okay using Inkscape I applied the Silk Carpet #filter over the three colors shown on the right 

I would suggest adding some kind of ripple or blur effect filter for an final edit to this if you use for an illo of water?

Possibly add some highlights ?

NO as a LEFT HANDER I do NOT appreciate you changing  the Create New Post command to an Cross Shaped Icon. Yes It was a BIG CROSS and you meantt it to be seen as a PLUS sign which I worked out after a minute or so of WTF is Create New Post ?  BUT it is in the lower RIGHT side of the screen

Also please restore the EDIT command or have to the common sense to add a note for users along the lines of

Hey we changed a few things

There are few filters with names starting with the letter D so for this years ABC of Inkscape Filter Demos I decided on D for DARK

I have once again been contemplating the problem of how to have a dark background that is not dull.
Something to suggest dark skies or cloth or deep waters.
I make squares using the colors in the left and right columns
The percentages are of black to middle gray.
I duplicated the blue tones and moved those squares OVER the grays.

I'm going to try this again with greens ! Also maybe on a curved shape?

Let me know if this gives you any useful ideas?
