HIATUS UPDATE
Sorry folks my arm is still on the mend but I may have something to share next week. I've only been able to use the keyboard with both hands instead of one finger for any kind of editing or typing the last few days after breaking my right arm.

Shift and Ripple
This blogs posting frequency will be reduced to once a week due to my arm fracture. Folk you're only getting one today cos I had material prepared!
While fortunately we have Medicare in Australia I will be unable to work or work much at anything for three weeks at least since essentially I'm one armed since the fracture is radial and I have an immobilizing sling on my right arm.
Okay here's two before and after shots.
The first is a web version of a poster on Red Bubble.
The second image is recent redo in which I added Shift and Ripple to the original.
I may upload the second later this week since thats a command I can enter one handed. Its just the pain is very distracting even with meds just wiggling my fingers to keep the circulation going.
Shift and Ripple are Gimp filters!
now don't forget to zoom in for the fine detail!
there must be some minor coding differences cos my chrome laptop browser shows a darker bg in the laptop and in gimp but you get the general idea of how shift and ripple can combine?

Return of the Queen
Who else admires #CliffChiang's version of the Olympians?

I do like the character design especially the peacock feather cloak with its references to the Argus myth. Good strong clear lines contrasting with dark areas giving the colorist plenty to work with.

Making Brocade ... well trying to
I've been trying to figure out how to combine #GIMP filters and plugins to create a effect that looks like #brocade.
Here's a few of my experiments Copyright Julie Vaux 2014 so please don't download them yet. I will share some of them when I finish the experiment!
Yes that is the kanji / hanzi for brocade JIN or nishiki in Japanese.

The closest I could get was a combination of three and no none of them were Clothify or Weave and Embroider is too slanted and stitch like!
Can try anything that alters horizontal rows of pixels and let me know if you find something that works better please?
