I and J

Its July so I'm going thru my files looking for things with a J theme. You may be aware that the letter J developed from the  I letterform. Here's a comparision of the letterforms to illustrate this. 

Gold on Inksticks and Writing Boxes

These are Inksticks but probably for collecting not usage? Gold is used for writing decoration and on writing tools and equipment. There are Japanese companies that specialize in gold maki-e foundation pens but also shops selling more traditional objects like these.
