Fancy fabrics or why this blog is running late AGAIN
Fancy some fabric was created using Angelic War a font and this image is set to be larger than the original. I am STILL shudder Yes still sorting from my mother's room ... how one adult could squeeze so many fabric in a small space ... seriously it unpacked to more boxs than the bags it was in!
Anyway I'm going to be running Ads on Facebook and Gumtree for the next couple of weeks and if it doesnt sell its off to the salvos or op shop !
Now at the larger size some spacing errors that are NOT immediately obvious are showing so take and use this demo as a warning be extra careful with spacing and kerning if you're using Angelic War!

If you're trying to create "painterly" effects you can do it in a SVG program
Try these filters and don't forget to experiement with different combos of filters and plugins. I'll show you an even more texture version soon!

Rennie's Roses
One of the most ripped off design motifs must be Rennie Mackintosh's Stylized Art Noveau Roses ?!
These two examples are by the man himself.
There are however literally hundreds of copies of this that don't even bother to acknowledge the originals in any way.

Dang I couldnt find a cover shot but this book is worth hunting for.
Useful sensible logical observations and comments on type book publishingpage layout product quality design ornament and other problems that designers still have to deal with today.
You do not have to be a typographer to benefit from this book.
Go and see if your college or university library has a copy hidden somewhere even in its in stack.
